The Bridge

For centuries humanity has yearned to cross the void between the stars... now they have a bridge.

The Bridge is humanity's hyperspace-highway - a stable wormhole linking the solar system to Barnard's Star and the colonizable planets in its orbit. When a traveler on their way through The Bridge pays a visit to the Catholic chapel nestled in jump-gate's main terminal, the forgotten, buried story of The Bridge's construction is revealed along with the Catholic Church's involvement in the project and, ultimately, in tragedy both personal and profound.
